What has been your favourite project to
work on and why?
I recently did a family portrait shoot on the beach in North Wales. I arrived at the client’s house at 8:00am, to find the children were all still in their pyjamas! On the spur of the moment, I decided to get all the children to run down to the beach just as they were.
One of my favourite shots is of them all in the sand dunes in their pj’s! The children loved it, and thought it was so crazy they couldn’t stop laughing, which of course made for some wonderful and highly individual shots. This was followed by an early morning dip, and bacon butties on the beach – perfect!
If you could give clients one piece of advice on
how to choose a photographer - what would it be?
I would stress the importance of establishing a connection with your photographer and ensure they understand the style of photograph that you hope to achieve.
Why do you think photography is so important?
I see photography as an investment for the future - allowing people to glimpse a moment in time that would otherwise be lost forever. It allows people to build their own private histories and to share their own memories with others.
